Amazon GPSR Requirements

Amazon enforces strict GPSR compliance across all EU marketplaces. This section outlines Amazon-specific requirements for non-EU sellers.

Key topics include EU Responsible Person appointment, documentation requirements, Amazon's official GPSR partners, compliance deadlines, and consequences of non-compliance.

Amazon began enforcing GPSR on 13 December 2024 for products sold to EU and Northern Ireland buyers. Sellers add their EU Responsible Person and manufacturer details in the "Add compliance information" widget in the Manage Your Compliance dashboard (name, address, email). Listings without a valid EU Responsible Person can be deactivated or removed from EU marketplaces — and a mismatch can trigger removal even after goods reach a fulfilment centre. Amazon's own short-lived Responsible Person service ended in 2024, so sellers must source their own.

Etsy GPSR Requirements

Etsy has established specific GPSR requirements for non-EU sellers operating in EU markets. This section outlines Etsy's approach to compliance.

Key topics include EU Responsible Person verification, documentation submission, Etsy's official partner program, compliance timeline, and account consequences for violations.

Etsy's GPSR tools rolled out February–April 2025. Non-EU makers usually add one shop-level Economic Operator (Shop Manager → Settings → "Partners you work with"), while resellers can use the per-listing "Manufacturers and Product safety info" field, plus a product-safety warnings field. Etsy partnered with Cert-Rep and International Associates to help sellers appoint an EU Responsible Person. Sellers can also opt out by restricting sales to the EEA and Northern Ireland. Non-compliant listings can be removed and accounts suspended on an authority notice. This is general information, not legal advice.
